As the new school year approaches, 400 students in Vineland will be going back-to-school in style with all the essentials, thanks to a backpack giveaway courtesy of the Salvation Army and local partners.
The Salvation Army, Vineland Corps, Walmart, and the city of Vineland and Millville teamed up for the giant backpack and schools supplies distribution event. This is an extension of the ongoing work that The Salvation Army brings to this community throughout the year.
The event also included carnival fun, a bounce house, music, representatives and information from local organizations and more.
The Salvation Army annually helps more than 23 million Americans overcome poverty, addiction, and economic hardships through a range of social services. By providing food for the hungry, emergency relief for disaster survivors, rehabilitation for those suffering from drug and alcohol abuse, and clothing and shelter for people in need.
