BlueClaws Crush Cyclones With Four-Run Fury

By Jordan Beaudoin

It’s been another busy week for the Jersey Shore BlueClaws. This week they took on the Brooklyn Cyclones for a five-game series. The last game of the series was on Sunday, April 27.

In this week’s series, the Blue Claws fell against the Cyclones 2-3. They had lost most of their series, however in this game they came back with a vengeance to defeat the Brooklyn team. The final from Sunday’s game was 12-7.

This game was full of fly balls and runs. The BlueClaws did an amazing job of staying ahead.

They scored nearly every inning of the game and had fans constantly cheering in the crowd. They were excited to see each of these players take the field.

Today’s game was full of nothing but teamwork between everyone on the entire Blueclaws team. They were very well put together and knew what they had to do when they were on the field. Their offense was on fire today and kept on top of the ball wherever it went on the field.

The BlueClaws scored three runs in the first inning. It started with Devin Saltiban who finally got his first home run of the season. It was truly a great way to start this game.

Moments later, Eduardo Lopez hit a double allowing both Bryan Rincon and Carson DiMartini to run home and score the first three points that went up on the board.

The second inning was huge for the Blueclaws. They managed to score five runs. This streak started with Raylin Heredia who hit a home run out to left field. Following that, DeMartini also hit a fly ball and allowed Luis Caicuto to run home.

Moments later, Lopez came back to the plate and put more up on the board for the BlueClaws. He hit a fly ball out into right field while there were already two players on first and second base. DeMartini and Rincon were able to run home right along with Lopez. They bumped the score up to 8-0.

In the third inning, the Cyclones managed to score only one run. This home run was hit by Jefrey De Los Santos out to right center field.

Many of the Cyclones innings up at bat, consisted of one, two, three strikeouts. Very rarely did they find a way to get up onto the scoreboard.

Rincon scored again at the bottom of the third after a throwing error was made by the Shortstop Aaron Borrow.

No one scored again until the fifth inning where the BlueClaws put up two more runs. There was a fielding error made by the Cyclones catcher, Chris Suero, then while Lopez was batting, Rincon was able to score on a balk.

During the sixth inning, the Cyclones put up two runs. The score at this point in the game was 11-3 in favor of the BlueClaws. Carson Benges scored and then Jacob Reimer also scored on a Balk. Bryson Ware also had his share of home runs in the sixth inning of the game, he hit a solo home run to right center field which stretched the BlueClaws lead to 12-3.

The game was quiet until the top of the eight when the Cyclones returned to the plate. They began scoring without any issues, Jesus Baez, Benge scored, Reiner scored on a balk, followed up moments later by Baro then scoring. The score was then 12-7, the Cyclones were quickly trying to catch up. However, it did not work in their favor.

The BlueClaws truly had a great game despite how this series turned out for them. They will return Tuesday night to play against the Hudson Valley Renegades at Heritage financial park in FishKill, New York at 6:05 P.M.
