A boy was hit by a NJ Transit light rail train in Palmyra on Thursday morning. He died at the scene.
The northbound River Line train, at the Chestnut Street crossing, crashed into the boy before 8:20 a.m., according to a NJ Transit spokesperson. Information regarding the details of the incident and the specificities of the crash are currently unknown.
NJ Transit police are investigating the crash. It has been revealed that the 28 passengers and operator on board were unharmed.
As the investigation continues, the River Line Service will be suspended between Cinnaminson and Pennsauken or Route 73, experiencing delays of up to 30 minutes on both sides of the track. Passengers in need of a ride can look to take the substitute bus offered between Cinnaminson and Route 73.
