Drowning in South Jersey Lake

A teenager died after drowning in a South Jersey lake on Saturday.

A 19-year-old male, last seen swimming in the water at Lake Garrison, was reported missing at 2:08 pm on Saturday. The Elk Township police investigated the area to look for the young boy when they received the report.

Within 20 minutes, the authorities found the teenager in the water, in an unresponsive state.
He was transported to Inspira Medical Center Mullica Hill, where he was soon declared dead.

His identity remains anonymous. Investigators and authorities have announced that his death was due to what appears to be an accidental drowning.

Lake Garrison is known as “The Family Playground” and typically draws in thousands of visitors and tourists each summer. The lake closed down Saturday and Sunday upon news of the teen’s death.
