It has been nothing short of a tough season for the New York Football Giants. After being dismantled last week by the Tampa Bay Bucs, the Giants are looking to bounce back and get their third win of the season. However, it is going to take a Thanksgiving Day miracle for the boys in blue to find themselves on the winning side this week.
What most thought was going to be a battle of the worst on Turkey Day, might turn into a blood bath as the Dallas Cowboys seem to have found their rhythm. After coming off of a huge 34-26 victory over the Washington Commanders, the Cowboys aren’t quite done yet.
As for the Giants they have fallen to 2-9 on the year and are only looking worse. With outside distractions of the dismissal of QB Daniel Jones and the rising suspicion that Coach Brian Daboll and General Manager Joe Schoen might get the boot, it has been a recipe of disaster for the Giants.
On top of all this players for the G-Men are dropping like flies as starting QB Tommy DeVito is dealing with a forearm injury, OLB Azeez Ojulari is being placed on IR with a toe injury and OL Jermaine Eluemunor has a quad injury.
Last Time Out – Giants
Not much went right for the Giants last Sunday against the Bucs. In the first half they were left scoreless and down 23 with nothing going their way. However, in the second half the Giants did show some progress by finally getting on the board in the fourth quarter and holding the Bucs to just one touchdown in the third.
Overall, as a team the Giants offense recorded only 76 rushing yards and 192 receiving yards. On the defensive side as a team, the Giants recorded only 77 tackles (35 solo), three tackles for loss, two QB hits and two passes defended.
There is not much else to say about the performance other than embarrassing. After the game there was a lot of chatter in the locker room between the players and the media about how the team’s performance was “soft” and who is at QB isn’t the “problem”.
Dexter Lawrence was asked if he was "angry" after today's loss:
"Extremely. We played soft, and they beat the s–t out of us today." pic.twitter.com/HML7y08ZbZ

Interesting quote: #Giants WR Malik Nabers says postgame that evidently the losing wasn’t Daniel Jones’ fault & adds he’s tired of it. Giants lost 30-7 to the #Bucs today & fall to 2-9 on the season.pic.twitter.com/tsPIMxSPuR

All About the Cowboys
The Cowboys currently sit at 4-7 on the season and right above the Giants in the NFC East at third. Just like the Giants, the Cowboys are winless at home, being 0-5 so far on the year. The Cowboys have struggled all season long and the loss of starting QB Dak Prescott didn’t help their situation, however QB Cooper Rush looked solid last week against the Commanders, going 24/32 with 241 passing yards and two touchdowns.
Offense
In total offense the Cowboys sit ranked at 20th in the league with 323.2 offensive yards averaged and 21 offensive touchdowns. As for the passing game the Cowboys are ranked eighth with 240.6 pass yard average and 15 pass touchdowns. In the run game however, the Cowboys are one of the worst in the league (ranked 31st) with 82.5 rush yard average and three rush touchdowns.
Biggest offensive threat:
- CeeDee Lamb – The Cowboys go to WR is the number one guy to watch out for on offense. On the year he has 77 receptions (1st in league) 841 yards (third in league) and four touchdowns.
Defense
In total defense the Cowboys rank 27th with 369.9 defense yards average. In the pass the Cowboys are ranked 21st with 219.5 pass yard allowed average and 17 pass touchdowns allowed. As for the run game, the Cowboys rank 31st (right below the Giants) with 150.5 rush yards allowed average and 19 rush touchdowns allowed.
How Do the Giants Square Up?
The Giants have the 24th best overall offense (28th in pass, 19th in rush) and have the 19th best overall defense (7th in pass, 30th in rush). If the Giants can get rookie RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. in his rhythm, along with Devin Singletary then the Giants could have a solid one-two punch against them boys. However, the Giants can’t fully rely on the run game, so the Giants will have to capitalize in the air.
With the injury to DeVito it is looking like QB Drew Lock will lead the Giants on Thursday. Making this the third QB the Giants are on this season.
It’s a longshot that QB Tommy DeVito will be able to play Thursday vs. Cowboys, per source. That puts Drew Lock in line for a start.
The Giants say DeVito is undergoing further evaluation.#Giants #Cowboys

Thankfully for the Giants defensively, the Cowboys do not have a good run game so the Giants weak run defense won’t be too tested on Thursday, However, the Giants need to have their cornerbacks on lockdown with Lamb, because if Lamb gets loose, it will not be pretty for the Giants.
