Five Upcoming Charity Races in NJ: Run for a Cause

Towns across New Jersey are gearing up for a great season of charity races, offering runners and walkers of all levels the chance to support great causes all while getting active. Whether it’s raising funds for medical research, local non-profits, or community programs, these events are all great reasons to give back while staying active.

Here are five of the notable charity runs for great causes all across New Jersey:

1. Run on the Reservoir: New Beginnings Charity Run 

On March 22 in West Orange, a 5k run/walk will be held by the New Jersey Bankruptcy Lawyers Foundation which aims to assist any individuals facing financial distress. This event takes place at The Waterfront, South Mountain Recreation Complex.

2. RunAPalooza

Taking place on April 5, in Asbury Park, a total of three races will take place, featuring a 5k, half-marathon and a full marathon. RunAPalooza raises funds for the Special Olympics of New Jersey, welcoming runners of all levels to participate for a great cause.

3. Earth Day Run: Run Green 5K/10K/13.1

On Saturday, April 19, Camden invites earth lovers of all running levels to celebrate our planet while supporting environmental conservation efforts. They will hold three exciting races, including a 5k, 10k, and a half-marathon (13.1 miles), so don’t forget to wear a favorite shade of green to showcase your love for the planet!

4. 33rd Annual River to Bay 5K

May 3, an exciting day at the shore in Island Heights will host a series of five races, all in an effort to raise money for local youth and charitable organizations, with all proceeds benefiting these wonderful causes. Make sure to secure your “Early Bird” spot by April 7, as there is only a 750 participant limit!

5. Foster the Family 5K & Family Fun Day

A big day in Cherry Hill on May 31, calls for an exciting series of four races to connect foster, adoptive and kinship families with the community all while enjoying a morning of fun and fundraising. The 5k race kicks off at 9 a.m., followed by the one-mile walk starting shortly after 9:10 a.m. Best of all, 100% of the registration fees will go directly to Foster the Family, NJ.

Joining these charity races in the great Garden State is more than a chance to stay active, but to also make a difference. These events foster a sense of togetherness allowing like-minded participants of all levels come together and support these great causes.
