Giants Drop To 0-6 At Home In Embarrassing Loss To Bucs

By Ashley Moynahan

Just when it didn’t seem like things could be worse in New York, the Giants proved everyone wrong by getting blown out by the Tampa Bay Bucs on Sunday. Down 23-0 at half, the only word to perfectly describe the Giants’ performance was a disaster.

After a noisy bye week with the demotion and release of QB Daniel Jones, the Giants were trying to look forward in the new era with QB Tommy DeVito at the helm, but it seems that not even Tommy Cutlets could provide a spark to a Giants team that continues to disappoint.

Now sitting at 2-9, things seem very dark and grim for the G-Men as the season won’t be getting any easier. The question of “tank time” is being rumored by fans, as at this point in the season winning will only hurt the team in the sense that they won’t make the playoffs and would only drop in the draft order.

After the disgusting loss, Giants Owner John Mara had nothing to say about the result and instead just wished reporters a “Happy Thanksgiving” when faced with questions about the state of the team, according to Jordan Raanan. It again raises the question of if Head Coach Brian Daboll and General Manager Joe Schoen are on the hot seat as their “rebuild” has turned into nothing short of a clown show.

Giants WR Malik Nabers made an interesting comment postgame, saying “It ain’t the quarterback. It’s the same outcome we had with DJ at quarterback” when asked if he expected the quarterback switch to provide a spark. Nabers clearly seemed agitated as the losses keep stacking up.

Game Summary – Giants vs Bucs

The first half was all Bucs as Tampa Bay had a 23-0 lead going into the locker room. The first half started off hot for the Bucs thanks to a 14-play touchdown drive to open the game. Sean Tucker got the one-yard run for the score to put the Bucs up 7-0.

The Giants and Bucs traded punts, but the Bucs got back on the board again with a field goal from 23 yards after the Giants defense was able to make a nice stop on third down.

After another Giants punt the Bucs found themselves back in the scoring column with a Buck Irving six-yard run for the touchdown. The Bucs increased their lead to 17-0.

The Giants then punted again and you probably guessed it, the Bucs found the back of the end zone, this time from Baker Mayfield running it in himself for 10-yards to go up 23-0.

Mayfield had quite the celebration after the score, mocking the famous Tommy Cutlets pinched fingers that went viral last year when DeVito had a great stretch of games for New York.

After the half things seemed to be turned around for the Giants as they marched all the way down to the Bucs one-yard line, but this is the 2024 Giants we are talking about so of course they did not find the end zone. A direct snap to Tyrone Tracy Jr. ended in a fumble, stalling the Giants’ great drive.

Tracy Jr. seemed to be benched after the mistake for the remainder of the game as Devin Singletary and Eric Gray got most of the reps.

After that the Bucs stormed down the field and added onto their lead with a Rashaad White one-yard run. Bucs up 30-0.

Thankfully the Giants were finally able to make something happen on offense and found the back of the end zone with a Singletary one-yard score to cut the Bucs lead to 30-7.

The Giants then followed the score up with a huge, forced fumble, but weren’t able to convert anything from it. The remainder of the game the Giants and Bucs traded punts in addition to both teams losing possession on downs.
