GOVERNOR MURPHY AND SENATOR BOOKER ENDORSE BIDEN FOR REELECTION

By On NJ

On Tuesday, President Joe Biden announced that he will be seeking reelection for a second term. The announcement came with quick endorsements from Governor Phil Murphy and Senator Cory Booker, who were expected to potentially run in 2024.

“President Joe Biden has shown remarkable leadership getting our country back on track while protecting our freedoms from right-wing extremists,” said Governor Murphy in a tweet.

He said he was “excited and for Democratic Governors to continue our strong partnership getting things done for the American people.”

Senator Booker tweeted, “As President Joe Biden has achieved historic levels of progress. I am thrilled to support him and Kamala Harris for a second term.”

The endorsements end months of speculation that both Murphy and Booker would run for office had Biden declined to seek reelection. Booker unsuccessfully ran in the Democratic pool of contenders in 2020.

Robert F. Kennedy and Marianne Williamson are running against Biden for the primary.
