With Thanksgiving nearby, New Jersey residents are beginning to prepare for the December holidays, affixing lights to the outside of their homes and looking for activities to participate in.
Highland Park has no shortage of activities, with its annual Gingerbread House Competition returning this year. Competitive and creative crafters must enter the competition with their completed design by November 30. Each individual can bring their home to the pavilion near 212 Raritan Avenue in Highland Park from 1pm to 4pm. Refer to the link here to see the rules in place for the contest.
On November 30 and December 1, Highland Park will host its Night Owl Markets. Take a trip over to browse, shop, and be surrounded by cheer. The markets will have plenty to offer, including crafts, food, gifts, Christmas trees, music, caroling and an appearance by Santa Claus himself. The Gingerbread House Competition will also be displayed here. The Night Markets will reappear later in December too.
On December 26, Highland Park will have a Menorah Lighting downtown as well, featuring sufganiyot, dreidels and gelt. Come downtown to see the large monarch lit.
