The Cougars are now officially 2-4 on the season, with their other win coming against Nichols College on January 18.

This matchup was primarily dominated by the Cougars who averaged 61.5 points, 52 kills, 49 assists, and 43 digs for the match, almost double that of King’s College.

The Cougars have quite a few athletes to keep on the lookout both on the offensive and defensive end.

Last night’s lineup showcased their talents as expected. Senior Setter and Right-Side Hitter Brandon Millias had 24 assists and six digs on the game and currently has 157 assists and 23 digs on the season. Junior Middle Blocker Danny Pugliano put up 12 kills and two aces against King’s and sits at 52 kills on the season. Fellow Junior Outside Hitter and Defensive Specialist Aidan Flinn put up nine kills for the match and currently has 45 on the season. Junior Setter David Flores had 15 assists against King’s upping his total to 43 on the season.

It is important to note contributions from Freshman Middle Blocker Nick Huzar and Sophomore Libero Tyler Quinn. Huzar collected nine kills and three blocks in this matchup, which puts him at 25 kills and ten blocks just five starts into the season. Quinn made it a mission to make sure the court was covered, getting 17 digs, to raise his total to 70 six matches into the season. Younger talent shining through this early on in the season is always a good sign and can predict a great season moving forward.

The Cougars look to carry this momentum into their next matchup which is this Saturday against Purchase College.
