Mets dominate Rays 10-1 for third straight win, Tidwell deals in Port Charlotte

Mets are Hot: Third Straight Win from Port Charlotte as New York Crushes Tampa 10-1

The Mets have won three baseball games in a row. That is officially a S-word.
Final from Port Charlotte: Mets 10, Rays 1.
The Mets controlled the game from start to finish, delivering another dominant performance in Spring Training.

Tidwell’s Immaculate Inning

Blade Tidwell set the tone early, striking out five over 2.0 innings. He opened the first by striking out the side—an impressive feat from the prospect against major league bats—tapping out at 99 mph today.

Tidwell found out about his immaculate inning while scrolling through social media after returning to the visitors’ dugout. He said the last time he threw an immaculate inning was back in high school—but quickly dismissed it, adding that it “doesn’t count” anyway.

Dom Hamel followed with 2.0 scoreless innings and three strikeouts, continuing the strong start from Mets pitching.
Combined, the two top prospects racked up eight strikeouts in four innings, an encouraging sign of the organization’s pitching depth.

Siri Crushed Second Home Run of the Spring

The offense provided more than enough support for the phenomenal pitching of the game. Jesse Winker opened the first inning with a sharp double to center, showing strong plate discipline and power in the box, now posting a 1.125 OPS.

José Siri crushed a three-run shot in the top of the third, sending a no-doubter deep into left field. It’s his second of the spring.

Mets Capitalized on Rays’ Fifth Inning Woes

The Rays’ pitching staff collapsed in the fifth inning, allowing three consecutive walks on loaded bases.
José Azocar capitalized with an RBI single, and Ryan Clifford scored on a wild pitch from Cole Wilcox, extending the Mets’ lead.
The inning highlighted the Mets’ discipline at the plate and the Rays’ inability to find the strike zone.

Mets Look to Extend Their Spring Surge

The Mets racked up ten runs and never trailed. This victory marks their third straight, a promising sign for a team looking to carry momentum into the regular season.

The pitching was sharp, the bats were aggressive, and the overall execution remained crisp. While spring training results may not count in the standings, winning remains a better alternative to the opposite.
