The Coastal Athletic Conference (CAA) announced it’s postseason awards on Thursday and the Monmouth Hawks were well represented.
The headliner was freshman Milla Frye who was named CAA Field Hockey Rookie of the Year and made the All-CAA Second Team and All-CAA Rookie Team. Frye started all 17 games for the Hawks and her eight goals led all conference freshman.
Seniors Sofia Fouces and Jess Tucker as well as sophomore Anna Moors were named to the All-CAA First Team. This is the second consecutive All-CAA First Team honor for Fouces and Tucker. Fouces was the CAA Offensive Player of the Year a season ago and therefore garnered heavy attention from opposing defenses. She still managed to finish the regular season with 71 shot attempts, seven goals and four assists. Tucker has recorded nine goals and seven assists, leading Monmouth with a career-high 25 points. Moors led the Hawks with 11 goals during the regular season, tied for the most in the conference.
Joining Frye on the All-Rookie Team are Claire Campen and Lilly Ricks.
Balloting for the postseason awards was conducted at the end of the regular season and coaches were not permitted to vote for their own teams.
