While the school received an overall perfect grade, they also received grades for individual and specific categories. In terms of academics, teachers and college prep, the district received an A+. Sports and administration/ food earned an A and A-, respectively. Clubs and activities secured a B+, while diversity received a B and resources and facilities a C+. Rankings and grades are determined by reviews from students, alumni and parents as well as official sources like the U.S. Department of Education.
While the Moorestown district scored well, officials and residents contest the large class sizes and older infrastructure used in school. These issues are ongoing, but administrators, seeking to combat the problem, are opening a proposal for a bond referendum, set to occur in March.
2019 was the last time the district proposed a bond referendum, but 60 percent of community voters denied it. The district hopes that the outcome will be different this time around.
The Moorestown Township Public Schools board created a list of projects associated with the referendum, sending the letter to the New Jersey Department of Education for approval. Depending on the response from the state as well as the results of the referendum, taxes may have to be adjusted for local residents.
