New Jersey Devils Bring Home Win Against The Edmonton Oilers

The New Jersey Devils faced off against the Edmonton Oilers at 7:30 P.M. at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

The seats were filled with plenty of fans of both sides. Cheering on both the Devils and the Oilers.

The game finished with a total 54 shots on goal from both teams combined. The Oilers had taken plenty of shots on goal. They took 33 in total. While the Devils took 21 shots on goal.

The face offs were both 50 percent, the oilers would get away with the puck more often than not.

Edmonton also had more penalty minutes than the Devils. In total they had six minutes The Devils had two.

The first period was fairly quiet and no one scored. However there were two penalties called on the Oilers.

The first penalty was called on Darnell Nurse at 9:45 who tripped Dawson Mercer.

The second was called at 13:22 when Mac Jones caused interference with Nathan Bastian.

Things really started to change over in the second period when both the Devils and the Oilers proceeded to score.

The first was made by the Devils Brett Pesce, assisted by Erik Haula and Jesper Bratt at 3:58.

The second goal was scored by the Oilers Leon Draisaitl, assisted by Connor McDavid and Brett Kulak.

During the second period the Devils also had their first penalty called on them. Tomas Tatar was called on interference against Draisaitl.

Following that at 12:09, the Oilers were penalized again for having too many men on the ice.

In the third period, the Oilers followed up with another goal, taking the lead 2-1. The goal was scored by Evan Bouchard at 4:18. He was assisted by Jake Walman and McDavid.

Bratt then scored another goal for the Devils at 6:50, tying up the game once again. He was assisted by Pesce and Timo Meier.

It wasn’t even moments after Bratt’s goal when another was scored at 8:25. The goal was made by Simon Nemec, where Bratt and Nico Hischier assisted him.

The game ended 3-2 with the Devils bringing home the win.

The stars that were called for this game were third star Brett Pesce, the second was the Devils goalie Jake Allen, and the first star for tonight’s game was Jesper Bratt.

The Devils’ head coach Sheldon Keefe commented on how the outcome of the game during the press conference.

“You know, I think these are great team wins, you know, I think there’s as we just talked about most individuals that are always gonna step up, but we’ve been able to sustain our play for a few days here now on the box so they’re playing hard, competitiveness and intensity, structure. The guys are really bought into it, and that’s obviously a very high in group up there, and all they got two arms.” Keefe said.

They haven’t had an up streak for the last several weeks. The Devils have been making the effort to turn things around for their upcoming games and hopefully find a spot in the playoffs.

The New Jersey Devils will return for another game for another game on Friday March 14, against the Pittsburgh Penguins at 3 P.M.
