On Sunday, Feb. 23 the New Jersey Devils faced the Nashville Predators at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Puck drop was at 6 p.m. EST as the Devils met with the Predators for the second time this season, and the Devils won 5-0, winning the season series.

Devils Goaltender Nico Daws had an unstoppable night, he obtained his first NHL career shutout while in Nashville. Daws made 29 saves.

During the first, Ondrej Palat scored his 13th goal of the season, which occurred at the time of 13:45. Defenders Luke Hughes and Dougie Hamilton assisted on Palat’s snap shot. This goal recorded Ondrej Palat and Dougie Hamilton’s 500th NHL career point. This was a first in NHL history as they hit the milestone of 500 points on the same exact goal.

As the second period commenced, Dougie Hamilton recorded his ninth goal of the season at 9:14, with assists from Nico Hischier and Jesper Bratt. This assist on behalf of Jesper Bratt has extended Bratt’s assist streak to ten games—surpassing Petr Sykora’s franchise record set in 2001. Not long after, Seamus Casey proved that he belonged with the Devils as he scored, 3-0. His former University of Michigan teammate and buddy, Luke Hughes assisted on his goal, giving Luke a two-point night over Nashville. Luke’s brother, Jack Hughes also assisted on Seamus Casey’s goal.

Early into the third, Stefan Noesen scored a goal at 5:06 on the power play, extending the Devils lead to four. That includes Jesper Bratt’s 51st assist of the season and Nico Hischiers 21st. Nearly over eight minutes later, Tomas Tatar nets the final goal of the night, which was assisted by Nico Hischier, leading to the Devils 5-0 win over Nashville.

Devils captain Nico Hischier earned three assists last night contributing to his three-point night. This has been his second game back from an oblique injury.

The Devils will next play the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado at 9:30 p.m.
