New York Giants Looking to Get Third Win of Season vs Panthers in Overseas Matchup

By Ashley Moynahan

The New York Football Giants (2-7) are looking to get back into the win column this week against the Carolina Panthers (2-7) overseas in Munich, Germany. The Giants who are currently on a four-game losing streak have the opportunity to snap it, with the odds in their favor for the first time in 24 weeks as a five-point favorite.

The Giants who have struggled to capture wins this season have not have the same luck overseas as they are currently 3-0 as a franchise in Europe. The last time the Giants played on non-US soil on Oct. 9, 2022, they claimed victory over the Packers with a final score of 27-22.

The last matchup between the Giants and Panthers was also back in 2022, where the Giants won 19-16 at MetLife Stadium. For this week’s matchup however, the Panthers are coming off of a huge victory over the Saints, where Chuba Hubbard had a massive performance with two touchdowns and 72 yards off 15 carries. The Giants on the other hand are coming off of a stinger loss to the Commanders after failing to capitalize in key moments once again.

Looking forward, the stage is set in Germany with kickoff expected at 9:30 am ET on Sunday Nov. 11, so don’t forget to set your alarms as it’s an early start. Currently on ESPN Bet the spread is -6.5 for the Giants, with a money line of -280 Giants and an over/under of 40.5.

Players to Watch For The Giants

Tyrone Tracy Jr

Tracy has been the bright side for New York as he continues to show his dominance and development in the Giants run game. The rookie against the Commanders last week ran for 66 yards over 16 carries (4.1 yd avg) and had some really crucial gains for the G-Men. On the season so far Tracy has ran for 442 yards, two touchdowns over 89 carries (5 yd avg) and solidified himself as the go to back for the Giants. It would be no surprise to see Tracy having another breakout game, as the Panthers are ranked the worst in the league (32nd) for total defense yards average. The Panthers have also given up the most rushing yards and rushing touchdowns to running backs in the league, so don’t be shocked to see Tracy finding the back of the end zone Sunday morning.

Wan’Dale Robinson

With Darius Slayton ruled out of Sunday’s matchup and Malik Nabers attracting most of the attention from the secondary it could be expected to see Robinson picking up some more catches this weekend. With only 76 targets, 51 receptions for 343 yards and two touchdowns on the season, Robinson is just waiting to get more looks in his direction. The Panthers are a little better defensively in the pass game at 25th in the league, however, they are still allowing an average of 232.6 yards and 18 touchdowns. If the Giants can connect it could be a very good day for Robinson and all of the receivers.

Daniel Jones

While Jones has struggled with being consistent throughout the season, he popped off last weekend against the Commanders, going 20/26 with 174 yards and two touchdowns in the air with 54 yards and one touchdown on the ground (seven carries). Carolina struggles everywhere defensively as they are ranked the worst overall defense in the league, so if Jones can hit his targets and read what the Panthers are giving him it could be expected that he performs similar to last week.

Brian Burns

The former Panther will get his revenge game after being traded this offseason to the Giants. The two-time pro-bowler is looking to make an impact in the top 20 Giants defense. So far on the season Burns has 37 total tackles (23 solo), five sacks, five tackles for loss and one forced fumble. Last week against the Commanders burns had five total tackles, including one solo. Don’t be surprised to see Burns go off against one of the worst offenses in the league and 20th best offensive line.
