New York Knicks Earn Blowout Win Against Washington Wizards

By Ross Rodney

New York, N.Y.- After a two-game skid against the San Antonio Spurs and the Charlotte Hornets, the New York Knicks were back at home against the Washington Wizards. The Knicks needed a win and they made sure they got that win against the Wizards.

From the start, the Knicks seemed to be firing on all cylinders. In the first half, they outscored the Wizards by 25 points. The Knicks shot 49% from the field and 44% from three. Their defense was also on point in the first half, as they held the Wizards to a 36% field goal percentage and forced them to shoot 13% on three-point field goals.

The Knicks struggled a bit in the second half, especially in the third quarter. The Knicks struggled to make shots in the quarter, shooting 38% from the field. The Wizards took advantage of the poor play from the Knicks, and they outscored them by nine points and shot the ball well. They took that same mentality and play into the fourth quarter as they attempted a comeback. They got close with nine minutes to go in the fourth quarter; the Wizards had cut the lead to just four points for the Knicks before Cameron Payne made a stepback three to get the Knicks back on track.

The Knicks would continue to dominate for the remainder of the game; they won the game with the final score of 122-103. The Knicks were led in scoring by Karl-Anthony Towns, he scored 31 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. His teammates Mikal Bridges and OG Annunoby also combined for 50 points as they both knocked down four three-pointers for the contest.

Knicks now improve to 44-26 on the season and their next contest will be against the Dallas Mavericks as they will look to get another win at home.
