The New York Rangers (25-23-4) return to Madison Square Garden for an Eastern Conference showdown against the Boston Bruins (27-22-6).
Coming off a 4-2 victory against the Vegas Golden Knights, New York aims to carry that momentum back to Madison Square Garden. The win broke the Rangers’ three-game losing streak and marked a milestone for goaltender Jonathan Quick, who secured his 400th career victory.
On Tuesday, the Bruins continued their strong form with a 3-0 win over the Minnesota Wild at TD Garden, marking their fourth victory in six games. Goaltender Jeremy Swayman stood like a brick wall, stopping all 35 shots to earn a shutout.
The two Original Six teams last met on Feb. 1, 2025, at TD Garden, where Boston secured a 6-3 victory. Bruins forward David Pastrnak has been a force, recording 14 goals and 15 assists in his last 16 games—including a hat trick in that matchup. On the Rangers’ side, J.T. Miller found the net twice in his first game back as a Ranger, and was a force in a win against Vegas.
While the final score of their last meeting told one story, the game was evenly contested in several key areas. Both teams registered 25 shots and had three power-play opportunities, but the Rangers played a significantly more physical game, out-hitting the Bruins 39-19.
Bruins sit third for the wildcard playoff race, hoping to clinch that second spot while the Rangers are in seventh, six points away from a wildcard spot
