McGreevey To Run For Jersey City Mayor
Former Governor James E. McGreevey is eyeing a political comeback, and according to the New Jersey Globe, will announce his bid for mayor of Jersey City next Thursday. McGreevey filed a campaign committee with the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission. McGreevey made worldwide headlines when he resigned — and famously said that he was a “Gay American”.
Mom Charged For Throwing Party
A teenager was found unconscious during a recent house party. About 200 juveniles were seen leaving the party as police arrived. An Egg Harbor Township mom was charged for hosting the party with alcohol and minors present.
Edna Mahan Closes First Portion Of Jail
The state completed the first phase of closing the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility in Union Township. Plans to close the jail were announced in 2021 after an investigation into excessive force by officers. The176 inmates have been moved to a facility in Clinton.
