Montclair hosted an Opioid Awareness Walk on October 26 to inform residents and individuals about the dangers associated with opioid and fentanyl use.
The Montclair Police Department joined in on the walk, serving as a united front against the opioid epidemic. The Police Chief Todd Conforti worked with Robin Lavorato of Essex Health and Wellness Recovery Center during the walk.
The Essex County’s Sheriff’s Office, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Newark, Bloomfield, Verona, Caldwell and Belleville police departments all banded together to show solidarity and support. By working as a united group, Montclair and Essex County seek to educate individuals, especially the youth, about the importance of remaining clean and steering away from drugs that are life-threatening.
