As the second season of the PWHL is beginning in a few weeks, the newly named New York Sirens have announced the Prudential Center, located in Newark, NJ, will be their primary home venue for the 2024-25 season.
After playing in multiple home venues last season, the Sirens decided their fans could create a thrilling atmosphere in the Prudential Center all season long. The Sirens played two regular season games at Prudential Center last year and set a new franchise record for home attendance – 5,132.
The Prudential Center, also known as “The Rock” is already home to the NHL team, the New Jersey Devils.
Practices will take place in Essex County Codey Arena in West Orange, NJ.
Just earlier this week, New York unveiled their new name along with the other five teams in the league: New York Sirens, Boston Fleet, Minnesota Frost, Montreal Victoire, Ottawa Charge and Toronto Sceptres. Each team played the inaugural season being referred to whichever location they played in. With new names comes a new era for the PWHL.
Although the 2024-25 season is not out yet, the PWHL schedule will consist of 30 games per team being played followed by playoffs.
More information about the second season of the PWHL will come out in the following weeks.
