The New Jersey Devils had a fantastic game at the Chicago Blackhawks’ home arena, the United Center in Illinois.

The game started at 7:30 p.m. and was one for the books.

This was the second time these two teams had met this season, as the Devils came out on top the first time with a score of 4-1.

The first period was full of nothing but excitement for the fans who were in attendance to see this game. At 6:23, Devils right wing Nathan Bastian scored the game’s first goal. Defenseman Luke Hughes and left wing Thomas Tatar assisted on the goal. At this point, the Devils were leading by 1-0.

Twenty seconds later in the period, the game’s first penalty was called on the Blackhawks. Blackhawks left wing Patrick Maroon was penalized for high-sticking against Tatar. The Devils followed up with another goal, this time from right-wing Timo Meier. Center Dawson Mercer and defenseman Luke Hughes assisted him. The Devils continued to lead, with the score now being 2-0.

At 8:59, the Devils had their first penalty called on them. Defenseman Simon Nemec was called on interference against Blackhawks left wing Tyler Bertuzzi.

The Blackhawks finally got on the scoreboard at 9:06 when Bertuzzi scored a goal. Center Ryan Donato and defenseman Artyom Levshunov assisted him in making this happen. The score was 2-1.

The second period was just as busy as the first.

It did not take long before New Jersey was hit with another penalty. This one involved the Devils left wing, Erik Haula, who was penalized for tripping against Blackhawks center Frank Nazar.

At 3:14, the Devils scored another goal, shot by left-wing Ondrej Palat and assisted by left-wing Jesper Bratt, the king of assists.

At 5:26, the Blackhawks scored another goal: right-wing Ilya Mikheyev’s shot, assisted by center Teuvo Teravainen and left-wing Nick Foligno. The score was now 3-2.

Things got quiet for a bit, and the two teams passed the puck, which went back and forth on the ice.

At 10:37, another penalty was called on Blackhawks left-wing Landon Slaggert for roughing against Nemec.

The Devils came through moments again at 11:01, by Mercer, who scored his second goal of the night. Luke Hughes and Bratt assisted him. The Devils now led with a score of 4-2.

The third period cemented everything for this game.

There were absolutely no penalties called on either side, but both sides did manage to raise their scores on the scoreboard.

Nazar scored with the assistance of Donato and Levshunov, putting the score at a stronghold of 4-3.

Finally, at 19:47, the Devils came through, and Stefan Noesen scored the game’s last goal due to the empty net. Nico Hischier assisted him in closing out this game. This game finished with a final score of 5-3. The Devils left Chicago with the win from this game.

The New Jersey Devils will return on Friday, March 28, at 8 p.m. to play the Winnipeg Jets at their home stadium, Canada Life Centre, in the Winnipeg, Manitoba arena.
