News Update: Damage From NJ Earthquake

Two famous brothers are getting honored in Monmouth County! Actor and E Street Band member Steven Van Zandt, and Billy Van Zandt, an Emmy-nominated TV writer are getting a street named after them in Middletown, where the two grew up.

The Arc of Cape May County has chosen Leonard Desiderio as their first winner of the Community Champion Award. Desiderio is the Cape May County Board of Commissioners Director and serves as the mayor of Sea Isle City. He’ll be honored on May 3rd.

A landmark built in 1760 that was used in the Revolutionary War suffered damage from the recent earthquake. But Taylor’s Mill in Readington Township is still standing and will be restored. It’s known as the “mill that fed Washington’s troops”.

New Jersey Congressman Josh Gottheimer has announced a new bill to cut back on car theft. The legislation, known as the CARS Act, would provide resources for police departments to share real-time information about stolen vehicles.
