Authorities say they have arrested a Newark woman in connection with a hit-and-run that left an 18-year-old high school cheerleader in critical condition. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office says the woman has since been charged and is awaiting a detention hearing.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in New Jersey says two brothers from Miami have been indicted on cocaine distribution charges. The pair had been pulled over in 2023 while driving in Woodbridge when authorities discovered more than 108 pounds of cocaine.
Hackensack firefighters responded to reports of a vehicle fire in an apartment building parking garage. Officials say the car fire was quickly located and extinguished. One firefighter was taken to the hospital for injuries and has since been released.
