An Aberdeen man was found guilty of killing a man with a machete in Newark last year. 35-year-old Terrance Bailey and an unknown accomplice chased down 28-year-old Daniel Haas near Cathedral Court. Bailey was convicted following a two-week trial.

The Barnegat school district voted unanimously to fire five employees, including a teacher, who are accused of restraining an eight-year-old student with disabilities. The five allegedly taped up the child’s mouth, wrists and ankles.

The Passaic County Board of Commissioners finalized the purchase of 100 acres in Bloomingdale, thanks to a $2.5 million Green Acres Grant. The property will be transformed into a space for recreation and nature.

The New Jersey Farm Bureau has announced the passing of former officer Steve Jany, following a yearlong battle with cancer. Jany also served on the State Board of Agriculture from 1997-2002. He was 73 years old.
