Bloomfield firefighters, with support from Belleville, Nutley, and East Orange, battled a blaze on Laurel Avenue. The fire, starting in a vehicle, spread to a home, causing major damage. No one was seriously injured.

Bergenfield made some safety upgrades using a $100,000 state grant. The town added 16 Pedestrian Crosswalk Signals, 10 Flashing Stop Signs, 10 Digital “Your Speed Is” Signs and 1 Speed Monitoring Box. These upgrades were installed in high-risk areas.

A former high school teacher has admitted to producing child pornography in Union County. Michael Hamilton confessed to recording sexual conduct with a minor and possessing explicit material of two others.

The Burlington County Farmers Market made the top 5 in the national USA Today 10BEST Readers Poll. The Burlington County market finished Number. 4 in the final voting tally for the best farmers markets in the nation.
