A Gloucester City man is facing several charges after shooting an innocent bystander during an argument. 51-year-old Francisco Griffin fired a handgun that struck and injured a woman in a nearby home. The victim was taken to the hospital and listed in stable condition.

Authorities are investigating, after an apparent murder-suicide in Vineland. Police responded to a home on Roosevelt Boulevard and found a man and woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were taken to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

South Jersey officials are putting $150,000 towards lowering transient crime along the River Line. The funding will allow for a larger police presence at and around the light rail stations.

Congressman Bill Pascrell was laid to rest Wednesday at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, in his hometown of Paterson. Among those in attendance were former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Democratic Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.
