Police are investigating a crash in Fairfield Township that left a female driver dead. The 35-year-old was thrown from her vehicle after running a stop sign and colliding with a pickup truck at Ramah Road and Clarks Pond Road.

A Teaneck man has been arrested in connection to the death of a 70-year-old woman who was struck and killed by a car last month. 35-year-old Jevon Bryant allegedly hit Bernardita Garcia near Cedar Lane and Lincoln Place. He faces several charges.

The 7th annual Nurture New Jersey Leadership Summit included 700 experts, leaders and mothers from across the country. The goal of the meeting was to exchange ideas and strategies for strengthening and diversifying the state’s perinatal workforce.

Firefighters in Belmar were able to rescue a seagull that got stuck in a tree, after it got tangled in some fishing wire. The bird was brought to the Monmouth County SPCA for treatment, and is expected to make a full recovery.
