A man was killed while riding his bicycle in Toms River. 56-year-old was hit twice while crossing Hooper Avenue – once on his bike, and again after he was thrown from his bike. He died from his injuries at the hospital.

A Harrison man was found guilty of robbing and assaulting a man at gunpoint in Weehawken back in 2022. The two had met in person after doing business through an online marketplace. 31-year-old Mouhamed Ba is scheduled to be sentenced in January.

Mayor Tony Perry presented a congratulatory certificate to the Middletown High School North Varsity Football Team. The team won the 2024 Shore Conference Class B North Championship – their first divisional title in 41 years.

The Longport Police Department announced the passing of former Police Chief Scott Porter. Porter began his career in law enforcement with Stockton University and joined Longport in 1986. He became chief in 2001 and retired ten years later.
