Police are investigating after a fatal crash on Route 46 in Hasbrouck Heights. A car, with three people inside, struck a guardrail near Route 17. All three were taken to the hospital – one of the victims, a 57-year-old man, was later pronounced dead.
A man was arrested for a shoplifting incident in Atlantic City. It happened at the Bass Pro Shop on Arkansas Avenue. The 33-year-old faces several charges, including unlawful possession of a weapon and receiving stolen property.
Mildred Crump, the first black woman to serve on the Newark City Council, has died. She eventually became the first woman to serve as council president, a position now held by her son, Lawrence. Crump was 86 years old.
12-year-old superfan Theo Koshenkov, who was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma, signed a one-day contract with the New Jersey Devils. The team hosted Theo and his family for Hockey Fights Cancer Night, during a game against the Washington Capitals.
