A man was struck and killed by a New Jersey Transit train in Middletown. It happened at the Normandy Road bridge, as the train was headed towards New York Penn Station. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Hunterdon County native was sentenced to 25 years in prison for killing a woman on her wedding day in South Carolina last year. Jamie Lee Komoroski was speeding and had been drinking, when she crashed into a golf cart that was carrying the bride.

Demolition has started at the abandoned Public Works building in Bloomfield. The work is expected to be finished at the end of February. The structure, located on Grove Street, has been closed since the late 1990s due to asbestos. 

The Stone Pony in Asbury Park has teamed up with Bruce Springsteen for a special t-shirt that will raise funds for two charities – Community Karma and the Mercy Center. Shirts are $50 and are available until the end of the year.
