A Lodi man was arrested for a hit-and-run in Little Ferry that left two people hurt. 33-year-old Miguel Delacruz Romero is charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious bodily injury.

Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center in Gloucester Township says it’s overcrowded with animals. This week, the organization waived its adoption fees, in an effort to make more room. At one point, there were 25 more dogs than kennels.

Guerriero Gelato announced that it will be closing its flagship location, on Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair. The owners say their sales have no chance of keeping up with taxes, living costs, labor and food. The shop is expect to close in October.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the completion of the new Achieve Academy for Adults with Autism, at Brookdale Community College’s Wall campus. The education program will provide job training, coaching and employment placement.
