Wildfires continue to burn throughout New Jersey. The biggest, which is West Milford’s Jennings Creek wildfire, has consumed at least 25 hundred acres and has threatened at least a dozen structures in both New Jersey and New York. Dariel Vasquez, an 18-year-old Parks employee from New York, died while helping firefighters. The blaze started on Saturday, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Residents are urged to avoid the area.
A Bergen County man has filed a lawsuit against DreamWorks Water Park and American Dream mall. The victim, 55-year-old Luis Rivera, was injured last year, when a prop helicopter fell from the ceiling. He says the incident caused lasting physical and mental trauma.
The New Jersey Devils held their 14th annual Military Appreciation Night during yesterday’s game. As part of the event, 200 complimentary tickets were given to active military personnel and veterans.
