Two men, including one from Fair Lawn, are accused of defrauding a childhood friend, who liquidated her retirement fund to invest in their business. Authorities allege most of the $84 thousand dollars the woman invested went towards the men’s personal expenses.

A Woodbridge man was arrested after allegedly burning down his home on McGuire Street. Four cops were injured trying to detain 57-year-old Anthony Burke, who faces several arson and assault charges. Five neighboring homes were also damaged.

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella recently visited with students in Lodi and Glen Rock to warn them about the dangers of fentanyl. He explained that anything not prescribed by a doctor is likely to contain the drug.

A ceremony was held for former Marlboro mayor Arthur Goldzweig at Town Hall. A street sign bearing Goldzweig’s name will be placed at the entrance of the swim club, for his contributions to the town.
