An administrative assistant was sentenced to five years in state prison, for depositing checks made out to her employer into her personal bank account. The 51-year-old woman, from Manahawkin, stole nearly $179,000 between May and November of 2022.

Police have identified a man who was struck and killed in a hit-and-run last week. 57-year-old George Arnold was struck in Lyndhurst, near the intersection of Ridge Road and Milton Avenue. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office welcomed Criminal Justice and Homeland Security students from Monmouth University. Sheriff Shaun Golden shared insight into law enforcement, community safety and the role the sheriff’s office plays across the county.

Seven East Orange residents participated in the City’s Rising Builders Program, to obtain their forklift certification. This is one of six new training programs to help residents build skills for careers in high-demand trade industries.
