An elderly woman was robbed outside of the Acme supermarket in Somers Point. The thief, who was wearing a mask, approached the 83-year-old near the store’s entrance and took off with her purse after assaulting her. She was taken to Shore Medical Center for treatment.

A 20-year-old New Brunswick man was arrested after firing a gun into a group of people, striking two of them. It happened after a fight broke near Jones Avenue, between Comstock Street and Hale Street. Both of the male victims survived.

Recent vandalism at Lincroft Acres forced the cancellation of football and soccer practices. One of the fields was driven on and had tire marks all over it. Practice will resume once repairs are made.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office recently welcomed Detective Kaylie Gresek. Gresek previously interned there and with the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office. She’s assigned to the Administration Unit and will attend the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice Academy in January.
