A clothing store owner was sentenced to 364 days in prison, for secretly recording employees while they were using the bathroom. 36-year-old Nicholas Zirpoli recorded nearly a dozen workers – both juveniles and adults – from 2022 to 2023.

The parents of a Belleville student have filed a lawsuit against the district, claiming the boy was bullied and forced to eat lunch outside during the winter months. The alleged abuse took place in 2023, when he was in second grade.

The New Jersey Performing Arts Center received an $80,000 check from New Jersey Devils Youth Foundation, to support Backstage Pathways. The new program trains young artists for careers in technical theater and live concert production.

Cissy Houston, the mother of Whitney Houston, died at her home while she was under hospice care for Alzheimer’s disease. The Newark native had a singing career that spanned several decades. She was 91 years old.
