A woman who was fatally struck by a car in Paramus this past weekend, has been identified as 28-year-old Demaris Martinez. The Hillsdale resident was hit while crossing the southbound side of Route 17.

An Ocean Township man who was being held at the Monmouth County Jail four years ago was awarded $525 thousand. 23-year-old Kavan Costello had his teeth knocked out by corrections officers, while suffering a concussion and a black eye.

Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden recently addressed the state’s College and University Public Safety Association. He discussed collaborative efforts between law enforcement and educational institutions to increase security measures.

Superior Court Judge Ana Viscomi administered the Oath of Citizenship last week to 25 new citizens, during a ceremony in New Brunswick. Superior Court Judge Alberto Rivas gave the keynote address, and the Rutgers University Choir performed “The Star-Spangled Banner”.
